What is Dr. Armstrong’s Approach to Treatment?

Although working in a solo practice, Dr. Armstrong often coordinates her treatment efforts with those of complementary mental health or medical professionals. Dr. Armstrong will work with an individual to get to know his or her treatment needs. Subsequently Dr. Armstrong may recommend that the client also consult with one or more of the following: a dietitian, a marital/family therapist, a psychiatrist, an exercise physiologist or trainer, a medical specialist such as an internist, gynecologist, cardiologist, or endocrinologist.

The specific recommendations vary according to Dr. Armstrong’s clinical assessments as to what might be most beneficial or necessary for the client to make his or her desired progress. In addition, the client’s willingness and interest in participating in additional avenues of intervention or support is extremely important. Dr. Armstrong then works collaboratively with the various professionals who comprise the treatment team to coordinate all treatment efforts.
